Todays’ topic mainly deals with fixing the Mcafee login problems. Now, moving on to the methods to solve the login issue of Mcafee.
Method 1: Correct the language and try again:
- Exit the install wizard.
- On http://home.mcafee.com/, ensure that the correct language for your purchase is selected in the drop-down list at the top of the page. If the wrong language is shown, correct it.
- Try your install again. If you need detailed installation instructions, see TS100342.
If you still see the same error, perform the following steps to run the Pre-Install tool:
- Download the following file and save it to your desktop: Pre-InstallTool.
- Double-click the Pre-Install_Tool.exe file, and follow the prompts.
- Read the warning message and click OK to agree to the changes.
- After the Preinstall Tool completes, click OK.
- Click Close and restart your computer.
- When your computer restarts, try to install your McAfee product again.

Method 2: If you see a Network error, ensure that:
Your device (smartphone or tablet) has Internet connectivity: So, you will not face any problem while McAfee login.
- Try to browse to a website (such as google.com) from the device.
- If your device cannot connect to the Internet:
- Resolve your device connectivity issue.
- Try to log in to SHP again.
The Secure Home Platform router itself has Internet connectivity:
- Try to browse to a website from a device connected to the SHP router.
- If the SHP router cannot connect to the Internet:
- Restart the router.
- Wait for two minutes.
- Try to log in to SHP again.
Method 3: Retype your email address Log out and log back in again
Your computer might be automatically entering an email address that is no longer valid. If you log out, you can enter a valid email address to log back in:
- Go to http://home.mcafee.com.
- Click Log Out (if displayed).
- Hover your mouse over My Account, and then click Sign In from the list of options.
- If an email address is automatically displayed in the Email Address field, delete it.
- Type your registered email address and password, and then click McAfee Login.
If you see an error message when you log in, you have typed an incorrect email address or password. We store the login email address and password you originally used when you registered on the site or purchased the software, and so different forms of the same email address are not recognized.
If you used the correct email address, you might be typing the wrong password. If you cannot recall the exact cause of your password, reset it using the password recovery steps below.
Retrieve your email address or reset your password
Follow these steps:
- Go to http://home.mcafee.com.
- Hover your mouse over My Account, and then click My Account from the list of options.
- Click forget Your Password Or Forgot Your Email Address. And follow the on-screen instructions. For more details about email or password recovery.
- Your password information is sent to the email address you provided when you installed the product. Your email address is shown.
Method 4: Create McAfee Account
If you see a Create Account dialog after logging in, this means that a Secure Home Platform subscription is not associated with the account you used to log in. You should:
- Check to ensure that you are logging in with the correct account. For example, you might be attempting to log in with the account you created when you registered your McAfee LiveSafe product. Because these accounts are different, the LiveSafe account will not be recognized in SHP.
- If this is the case, tap Create Account and follow the prompts to ensure that you have an account that is associated with SHP.
If you are still having account issues, you should contact your Secure Home Platform ISP partner.
